I don’t usually do this but maybe I’ll start to make a habit of it. I stumbled across a band called Forest Fire a couple days ago. These guys are nothing short of brilliant. Their hymnal, folk-influenced indie rock feels urban at the same time as desolate, at the same time as warm and comforting. Their debut LP “Survival” is captivating, and I just can’t seem to tear myself away from it. It’s brilliant, with rapidly changing but easily flowing mood and aesthetic. Not only that, but they’re giving it away for free as an mp3 download from their website. Seriously, check these guys out. If I had to, I would probably even buy this album from FYE, where everything costs almost double its worth.

P.S. - I’m going to New York tomorrow morning to visit my grandma. I’ll be back Monday, I think.
